Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. (ECONOWATT) was established in 1994 , building on the legacy of a steel-core ballast manufacturing plant that had been operating since 1970.
Over the decades, we have evolved from an electrical equipment manufacturer into a leader in energy conservation solutions and water treatment systems in Thailand.
Today, we operate a manufacturing facility in Suphan Buri and a sales office in Bangkok to serve customers in Thailand and overseas. We remain committed to quality, innovation, and delivering sustainable results for industry and the environment.
Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. was established.
Continuing from the Bangkok steel-core ballast plant (operating since 1970), we opened a new manufacturing facility in Suphan Buri and focused on producing high-efficiency energy-saving electronic ballasts—an important step toward becoming a leader in energy-saving equipment in Thailand.
ISO 9001 certification
The company places the highest priority on production standards and quality. In 1998, it became the first and only electronic ballast manufacturer in Thailand to receive ISO 9001: Quality Management System certification — a standard it has maintained ever since, reaffirming its commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality products.
Launched ESCO (Energy Service Company) operations
The company is one of the founding members of the Thai Energy Service Company Association (ESCO), offering Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) with Measurement & Verification (M&V) in accordance with the international IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol) standard.
Its services span the full project lifecycle — from consultation, project proposal, and engineering design, to management, energy consumption analysis, equipment installation, and the implementation of energy conservation and renewable energy projects — including financial support for energy projects, with the goal of elevating national energy management standards.
Began installing ozone systems for condenser water treatment
The company is dedicated to the continuous research and development of energy conservation products, successfully developing and installing high-efficiency ozone systems for cooling tower water treatment — deployed across buildings, factories, hotels, and shopping centers.
This innovation helps reduce scale buildup in condenser pipes, maintains consistent chiller performance, and lowers energy consumption — resulting in significant savings on both electricity costs and maintenance expenses.
ISO 14001 certification
The company became the first and only manufacturer of electronic ballasts and ozone generators in Thailand to receive ISO 14001: Environmental Management System certification, reinforcing its leadership in energy conservation and sustainable project development.
By implementing the ISO 14001 standard, the company has been able to elevate its environmental management practices to align with international principles — serving as a clear testament to its unwavering commitment to sustainable development.
Expanded to international markets under the ECONOWATT brand
The company expanded into international markets, earning globally recognized certifications including the CE Mark from ETS Germany, the IECEE CB Scheme accepted across 43 countries worldwide, and RoHS certification from Eurofins Germany — all confirming the quality, safety, and international acceptance of products under the ECONOWATT brand.
Pioneer in Green Label and No. 5 Energy Label Standards
The company became the first electronic ballast manufacturer in Thailand to receive Green Label certification, and the first T5 electronic ballast manufacturer to earn the No. 5 Energy Saving Label from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Additionally, the company was honored to serve as a reference prototype for fluorescent lamp lifespan testing by the Electrical and Electronics Institute.
Expanding into Water Quality Improvement Business
The company expanded its scope into the manufacturing and development of water treatment and water quality improvement products, covering wastewater treatment, oil-contaminated effluent, swimming pools, and water recycling systems — addressing the needs of industries and organizations committed to sustainable water resource management.
Listed in the Thai Innovation Register
The company developed water treatment innovations that gained national recognition. The Ozone Condenser Water Treatment System (2017) and the Micro-Bubble Dissolved Air Flotation (MBDAF) System (2018) were evaluated by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and officially listed in the Thai Innovation Register by the National Budget Bureau — reaffirming the company’s capability to develop innovations that meet national standards of excellence and quality.
Launch of EHR (Electro Hardness Removal) Innovation
Recognizing that water from natural sources with high dissolved mineral content cannot be used directly, the company researched and developed EHR (Electro Hardness Removal) — a new innovation that utilizes an electrochemical process to reduce water hardness, effectively solving water quality issues in an environmentally friendly manner.
Surpassing 500 Completed Projects
The company has successfully installed and delivered over 500 projects both domestically and internationally — a clear testament to its dedication and capability in developing sustainable energy conservation and environmental solutions. It continues to drive new innovations forward, creating meaningful change for society and the world.
Achieving International Certification
The company received international certifications from UL Solutions and the MyHijau Mark from Malaysia, along with carbon credit reduction verification from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
