Today, the company has grown to become a leading manufacturer and distributor of energy-saving equipment and water treatment solutions in Thailand. The company’s manufacturing plant is located in Suphanburi province, while its sales office is situated in Bangkok.
1994: Establishment of Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd
In 1994, Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. was established, expanding from a steel-core ballast manufacturing plant in Bangkok that had been in operation since 1970. The company also built a new manufacturing facility in Suphanburi province in 1994, focusing on producing electronic ballasts that offer higher energy efficiency compared to conventional ballasts.
1998: ISO 9001 Certification
The company is committed to maintaining high standards and quality in production to ensure products meet established standards. In 1998, Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. became the first and only manufacturer of electronic ballasts in Thailand to receive ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification. The company has continuously maintained ISO 9001 certification to this day, demonstrating its dedication to product and manufacturing quality.
2004: Launch of ESCO Energy Management Services
In 2004, Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. began operating as an ESCO (Energy Service Company). The company was one of the founding members of the Thai Association of Energy Service Companies. It operates under EPC (Energy Performance Contract) agreements and adheres to M&V (Measurement and Verification) standards in accordance with IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol). The services provided cover a range of activities including consulting, project proposal, project management, engineering design, energy analysis, equipment installation, and operation for energy conservation and/or renewable energy projects. Additionally, the company offers financing solutions for energy projects.
2005: Introduction of Ozone Water Treatment System for Condenser
In 2005, the company began studying, researching, and developing energy conservation products. We introduced a high-efficiency ozone treatment system for condenser in various applications, including buildings, factories, hotels, and shopping malls. This ECONOWATT’s high efficiency ozone system treats condenser water from cooling tower to reduce scale buildup in condenser pipes, thereby maintaining consistent cooling efficiency. Additionally, it helps save energy in building cooling systems and lowers maintenance costs.
2006: ISO 14001 Certification
In 2006, the company achieved ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification. Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. became the first and only manufacturer of electronic ballasts and ozone generators in Thailand to receive this certification. As a leader in energy conservation and sustainable project development, the company has effectively applied ISO 14001 standards to its operations. This certification not only enhances the company’s credibility but also demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and adherence to international environmental management principles.
2007: Begin Exporting Products Under the “Econowatt” Brand
In 2007, the company expanded its market internationally by exporting products under the “Econowatt” brand. It received CE mark certification from ETS Germany, IECEE CB Scheme certification from 43 countries worldwide, and RoHS certification from Eurofins Germany. These certifications emphasize the high quality and international recognition of the company’s products.
2009: Electronic Ballasts Certified with Green Label
In 2009, Thai Energy Conservation Co., Ltd. became the first manufacturer of electronic ballasts in Thailand to receive the Green Label certification. The company also became the first in Thailand to obtain the Energy Label No. 5 certification for T5 electronic ballasts from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Additionally, the company’s electronic ballasts were used as a model for testing the lifespan of fluorescent lamps by the Electrical and Electronics Institute.
2014: Expansion into Water Quality Improvement
In 2014, the company began producing products for water quality improvement, focusing on wastewater treatment, oil-contaminated waste water, swimming pools, and recycled water systems.
2017- 2018: Registration in the Thai Innovation List
In 2017, the company’s high efficiency ozone water treatment system for condenser, and in 2018, the Micro-Bubble Dissolved Air Flotation (MBDAF) system, were both registered in the Thai Innovation Registry. These products underwent evaluation by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and were officially listed as Thai innovative products by the National Budget Bureau.
2021: First installed Electro Hardness Removal (EHR)
In 2021, after expanding into the water quality improvement sector, the company identified a significant issue with natural water sources containing high levels of dissolved minerals, making the water unsuitable for direct use. To address this problem, the company developed a new innovation, the EHR (Electro Hardness Removal) system, which uses electrical methods to reduce water hardness. The development of this product was driven by the need to effectively remove dissolved minerals from water before it can be utilized.
2024: Over 500 Project Installations
The company’s success in completing over 500 projects both domestically and internationally is a testament to its commitment and capability in creating a sustainable future. We will continue to strive for the development and implementation of new energy conservation methods to drive positive change and sustainable development for our world.
